Hoops GM is a free browser game run by one person. This page describes exactly what the game collects, why, where it goes and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Hoops GM is operated by an independent developer. For any privacy question, or to ask for your data to be exported or deleted, email touboulwork@gmail.com. We aim to reply within a few days and in any case within one month.
You can play the whole game this way. Two things happen locally and one thing leaves your device.

count how many people play rather than how many page loads happen.

Only the host of a referring site is stored, never the full address. A full referring URL can contain the search terms someone typed, and those are none of our business.
We also record which milestones a device reaches — opened the game, picked a team, played a game, finished a season — so we can see where the game loses people. These are counters, not a log of what you did.
An account is entirely optional. It exists so a career can survive a lost device.
The public leaderboard shows your GM name and results only. It reads from a restricted view that cannot expose email addresses.
We do not email you unless you tick the box in your account settings. It is unticked by default. If you tick it you will get occasional messages about significant updates — a few times a year at most. Untick it and it stops immediately. Your address is never shared, sold or rented.

That is the complete list. There is no advertising network, no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, and no data broker.
Our database is hosted in Tokyo, Japan (Supabase region
ap-northeast-1). If you are in the European Economic Area or the
United Kingdom, your data is therefore transferred outside it, under the
standard contractual protections our hosting providers offer.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or California you have rights to access, correct, export, delete and restrict use of your personal data, and to object to processing. We extend these to everyone regardless of location.
You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Hoops GM is not directed at children under 13, and you must be 13 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. The game itself is playable without an account and without giving any personal information at all. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Accounts are handled by Supabase Auth; we never see or store your password. Database access is restricted row-by-row, so one account cannot read another's data. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and note the change in the game. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
