These are the rules for using Hoops GM. They are short because the game is free, has nothing to buy, and asks very little of you.
By using Hoops GM you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
The game is free to play for anyone. To create an account you must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. We may close accounts that we reasonably believe belong to someone under 13.
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Use an accurate email — it is the only way to recover access. You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen, and deletion is immediate and permanent.
The community forum lets you post text and images. You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and display that content inside Hoops GM, for as long as you leave it up. Delete it, or delete your account, and that licence ends.

We may remove any content and suspend any account that breaks these rules, or that we reasonably believe puts other players at risk. There is no appeal process; this is a free game run by one person, not a court.
If you believe something on Hoops GM infringes your copyright, email touboulwork@gmail.com with the URL, a description of the work, and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. Verified infringing material is removed promptly, and repeat infringers lose their accounts.
Do not:
Playing with your browser's developer tools open, or modifying your own local save, is fine. It is your game. Just do not use it to affect anyone else or the public leaderboard.
The Hoops GM name, code, artwork, text and simulation systems belong to the developer. You may not copy or redistribute the game itself. Screenshots, clips and streams of your own play are welcome and encouraged — no permission needed.
Hoops GM is a work of fiction. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the National Basketball Association or any other real league, team, player or organisation. All teams, crests, arenas and match events are invented, and every image in the game is generated by the game itself.
The game includes an optional roster mode that fills teams with names in the style of well-known players. It is a parody-style convenience, it is not claimed to be accurate, it is not endorsed by anyone, and it can be switched off at the team-select screen at any time. Nothing in the game should be read as a statement of fact about any real person.
Hoops GM costs nothing. There is an optional tip jar; it buys nothing inside the game and grants no rights. The game is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise it will always be available, bug-free, or that your saved career will survive forever — that is exactly why cloud saving exists, and why you should keep your own backup if a career matters to you.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Hoops GM, including lost save data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited. If you are a consumer, you keep every statutory right your country gives you.
You may stop at any time and delete your account from the Account screen. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. We may also discontinue the game; if that happens we will give notice in the game so you can export your career first.
These terms may change. Material changes will be announced in the game and the date above will be updated. Continuing to play means you accept the new terms.
